About TerraWatt

Independent news on how energy projects are financed and built — worldwide, deepest in emerging markets.

Why we exist

Terra is Latin for earth; Watt is the unit of power — the earth, the resource drawn from it, and the electricity that finally reaches the grid.

The energy transition is global, but its coverage is not. Multi-billion-dollar solar, storage and hydrogen projects across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America routinely reach financial close with barely a line of English-language coverage — while mature markets are reported in depth every day.

TerraWatt reports both ends of that market. We cover projects wherever they are financed and built — North America, Europe, the Gulf, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Latin America and Australia — and we go deepest where coverage is thinnest: the projects themselves, the financing behind them, and the companies that build and own them.
